Sunshine Cleaning or What a marvelous invention these movie things...

Sunshine Cleaning turned out to be a good flick. Although it dragged a bit in the middle the pay off at the end was worth watching the film. I also can't wait to see the new Sam Menes film. It looks so good.

While watching Sunshine Cleaning I had a great feeling about the career that I have chosen. I realized that no matter what film you go to see, if you can connect to the characters, you go through a cathartic experience and come out somewhat cleansed. What a marvelous invention these movie things...

Directing... a vocation?? Some people say Directing is a vocation, like being a Priest or a Doctor. The Script, The Producer, The Career?

My dear friend JimmyC Jimmy Do, introduced me to a prominent and influential producer a few weeks back. It was at this meeting where the producer said he would read my feature film, "When I Grow Up I Want to be Jason Mason." On friday I received a call that the producer wanted to meet me again to discuss the script.

I met with the producer yesterday and much came from the meeting. He wants to read the script again, give me a few notes then have me do a rewrite as the DIRECTOR and not just the writer. He believes I am the only one who can direct the film that I wrote. On top of all this I need to come up with three more pitches of different genre films that he might hire me to write!

Even with all this business we discussed, we had plenty of time to talk about life, the world, god and the universe. It was a delightful evening with a kind man.

I am currently on day three of the new work out plan P90x. What makes the program tough is not the amount of weight you lift, but the intensity and frequency of the work out.

One hour and thirty minutes 6 days a week. Tough.

Quarterlife....

Yes, it is officially true... I am old!

Here is a brief rundown of my 25th birthday:

I started the day off at midnight talking to my good looking friend in Rome via Skype. Bed at 3am and woke up at 9am to get started with my morning work out. It was an epic work out that Spartan's would be jealous of and it really started my day off right. After a brief yelling encounter with a mad black lady over how long I could park at Vons, Jim and I ate the best burritos ever at Chronic Taco. After lunch we watched Dexter then got ready to go out.

7pm comes and so starts the drinking. After a great steak and great conversation we head over to the Brian Leggit Health Care Reform 2009 benfit. All I can say in dollar drinks! (and a good cause).

I realized that after 25 years I have really made some life long friends and that is the most important thing to me. It was party party for two days but tomorrow again starts the hunt for investors and making the feautre film a possiblility!!
